Johannesburg: The Financial Planning Institute of Southern Africa (FPI) will be providing a comprehensive breakdown of the Budget speech on 23 February 2023.
Professional members of FPI (CFP® FSA™ and RFP™) as well as students and candidates on their learning pathway, will benefit greatly from this live online session.
Ronald King, CFP® and Ronald Matande, Head of Operations at FPI, will unpack the budget speech. King will be commenting on matters that impact the financial planning profession, while Matande will be commenting on matters impacting businesses.
It would be interesting to see if there are any changes to for instance the tax-free savings limits; the 27.5% / R350 000 retirement contribution deduction limits, if and how the two-pot system will be implemented and what type of tax relief could be given to taxpayers who will install solar systems to deal with the current electricity crisis in South Africa. Should there be any further guidance on issues like NHI during the speech, this will also be discussed.
