If you believe that your institution aligns with these criteria and would like to become a recognised Education Provider for FPI please contact us

The Financial Planning Institute of Southern Africa NPC (FPI) is a Professional Body acknowledged by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) in accordance with section 29 of the National Qualifications Act 67 of 2008 (NQF Act). As a result, FPI is committed to advancing the objectives outlined by the National Qualifications Framework.

These objectives encompass the following:

  1. a) Establishing a unified national framework for recognising learning achievements.
  2. b) Facilitating access to education, training, and career progression opportunities.
  3. c) Enhancing the quality of education and training.
  4. d) Addressing historical inequalities in education, training, and employment opportunities.

As a recognised Professional Body, FPI has the authority to recognise suitable education and training providers and participate in curriculum development for their learning programs. These approved programs or qualifications can then form part of FPI’s Progression Pathway.

FPI upholds a stringent evaluation and ongoing auditing process for both approved Educational Providers and the qualifications deemed essential for attaining designated membership within FPI. Some of the criteria considered when assessing a new Education Provider include the following:

  • The institution’s registration with the Department of Education or relevant Quality Council.
  • Registration of all qualifications with the South African Qualifications Authority.
  • Listing of the qualification on the Financial Services Conduct Authority’s approved qualifications list.
  • The program’s curriculum must encompass 100% of Financial Planning topics outlined in the FPI Competency Profile.
  • Additional factors taken into account by FPI include quality assurance measures, recognition of prior learning (RPL) mechanisms, institutional resources, academic support, and more.

If you believe that your institution aligns with these criteria and would like to become a recognised Education Provider for FPI, or if you wish to learn more about the process, please initiate the procedure by contacting us via email at certification@fpi.co.za .
